Who are the Titans?

The battle continues.

We carry on.

Hope is not yet lost.

Ruth Kershen — White Titan —

Thrown out of her parents’ house when she was sixteen due to an unfortunate scandal involving the neighbor’s boy, a pregnancy, and an abortion, Ruth Kershen flitted from apartment to apartment and job to job. For six years, she struggled to make a life for herself, completing her schooling, but ultimately unable to find much meaning or significance in herself or any of her relationships. She’s angry and frustrated at a world in which she seems to have no function. After the Throne invaded, she was recruited by Marveller into — and eventually came to lead — the Titans, and believes she’s found her purpose therein. Unfortunately, she has little knack for tactics, and finds her authority challenged at every turn.

Marc Jeffries — Yellow Titan —

In Iraq, he knew exactly who he was: a soldier, a warrior, a leader of men. He was strong, and powerful, and good at what he did. Unfortunately, after an undisclosed incident, he was court -martialed and discharged, finding himself adrift in a world he barely understood. Taken in by his brother Donovan, he despised his work and found his life meaningless. But now, as a titan, he’s a soldier again, but is still stymied, frustrated that he has to take a backseat to an inexperienced girl who has demonstrated, time and again, her unfitness for the job she’s been given. While glad to be back in combat, he’s angry and frustrated, and longs to take command for his own.

Emily Hua — Blue Titan —

At age fourteen, Emily Hua was the victim of an abduction. For weeks, she was held, bound to a pipe in a filthy room of a filthy house, by a vermin of a man who beat her regularly. No ransom was ever asked. He was not interested in money.

Unable to bear it any longer, Emily managed one day to escape her captivity, both murdering her captor and burning down his home in the process. These are events she has wrestled with her entire life, and has been unable to reconcile herself to the terrifying joy she felt at her destruction of a human life. She has joined the Titans hoping to cleanse herself of that past, to prove she can both do and be truly good. But can further killing really wash her clean?

Gregorio “Greg” Vargas  — Green Titan —

Jokey and irreverent, Greg is the hammer-wielding Green Titan. He and Emily seem to have something going on.

His backstory will kinda be revealed in #6.
